Firefly: Good starter plane : I purchased Firefly Radio Controlled Airplane for my 9 year old. Out of the box is was extremely easly to make ready for flight. On his first flight the plane worked perfectly. I have tried many other planes before – all of them ended up in pieces within the first three flights – but NOT this one. I am happy to say that in the first 15 flights the plane has worked well and has not broken. The battery charges quickly and can be done right on the field. I was surprized that the manufacturer guarentees that if the plane breaks in the first year, that they will replace it for basically the cost of shipping… very nice. The only issue with the plane is that because it is very light, small and has limited power, the plane needs to be flown when there is almost no wind. Any wind (over 5 mph) and the plane wants to head down wind the whole time. If you are looking for a good gift, this one is really great.
